PostProcessing Data

I am performing a 3D simulation in Structural Mechanics on a laptop with 4Gb Ram.
I need a very fine mesh in a small volume around a heterogeneity.

Using version 3.5 when I arrive at 120000 DoF I start to receive messages of Out of Memory.
For lower DoF the stress distribution around the heterogeneity is not satisfactory.
I also tried to optimize the mesh without success.

I implemented the problem in Comsol 4.0 and I was able to reach more than 300000 DoF.
Now the problem is to export postprocessing data (the stress components) on a regular grid defined in a subregion of the total domain with high number of points.

Note that my matlab version is not compatible with Comsol 4.0
