Material for SPRING?

Hello

Can any one suggest me which type of material to utilize from materials inorder to achieve the behaviour of spring made up of music wire ..

Hi

Music wire is "just" a high strength steel, so E=200[GPa], nu=0.29, rho = 7750[kg/m^3] should do for modelling. The true difference is the maximum stress&strain such a wire can sand w.r.t. other steel sorts, but that is not in the FEM model, at most it is a mesure for a security factor w.r.t. the maximum stress obtained

The built-in "structural steel" is not far off neither
