Is it possible to couple electromgatice frequency domain with mechatronics?

Hey everyone,

I'm working on designing a MEMS phase shifter for photonic integrated circuits. The challenge is to model the coupling of mechanics, electrostatics, and optics in COMSOL.

Looking for insights from those experienced in COMSOL's multi-physics capabilities:

  1. How to couple mechanics, electrostatics, and optics effectively?
  2. Any tips for accurate boundary conditions, sources, and materials?
  3. Recommended solvers for such simulations?

Any advice, resources, or personal experiences you can share would be greatly appreciated.

here is how I already defined the physics in Comsol however when I run it I'm getting quite different results than what I expected. see attached image
