This module is specialized in the analysis of components and subsystems where it is necessary to evaluate structural deformations. It also contains special application modes for the modeling of shells, beams and plates.
Application modes in this module solve stationary and dynamic models, and let you perform eigenfrequency, parametric, quasi-static and frequency-response analyses. 3D solid as well as 2D plane stress, plane strain and axisymmetric analyses also allow the specification of elastoplastic and hyperelastic material laws as well as large deformations.
The Structural Mechanics Module works in tandem with COMSOL Multiphysics and the other discipline-specific modules to couple structural analysis to any multiphysics phenomenon.
