Electric Current Transient Equation

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hi,

Does any one know what the governing equation is for a transient simulation in the electrical currents package? For some reason, every time I click to see it, it freezes and I need the equation for a homework report. I know for steady state, it's \del \cdot \sigma \del U = 0 where U is the voltage and \del is the nabla operator. Ie \del U is the gradient of U

Thanks! Nick

Hi Nicholas,

I am running some heavy simulations right now so I can't take a screenshot of the equations, but you have them in the reference manual in the ac/dc branch chapter: http://people.ee.ethz.ch/~fieldcom/pps-comsol/documents/User%20Guide/COMSOLMultiphysicsUsersGuide.pdf

If that does not help you let me know and I will send a screenshot as soon as I find the time

Regards, Nichal
