Initial Value for Strains

Hi, I need to specify initial values for strains inside a domain such that the current geometry has some stress-free prescribed strains.

Could anyone give a hint on how to do so.

Hello Mohammad,

Check under File > Licensed and Used Products, whether your license includes the Structural Mechanics Module, the MEMS Module, the Acoustics Module, the Multibody Dynamics Module or the Metal Processing Module. If it does, you will be able to add an "Initial Stress and Strain" node to your model by right click on the Linear Elastic Material node in the Model Builder (See attached screenshot). If it does not, consider contacting your COMSOL representative to add one of those products.
